The Edit III

On the Weekly Edit we share furniture, lighting, accessories, and more that we're loving! We also include an easy way to shop our favorite finds, a little update on all things design, and what spaces and designers that are totally inspiring — and deserving of all the shares and praise!

This week we’re revealing our latest kitchen remodel!

Our clients were a young couple who just purchased a 1950’s cape in original condition.

We were SO excited to come in and give this home a new life for our clients!

Our clients sought a re-imagined modern kitchen that still felt timeless and warm in design! They also described their love of hosting and high-quality finishes that would patina with time. We first began with a total reorganization of the ground-level floor plan! We enlarged the kitchen footprint and relocated it adjacent to their beautiful backyard. We also provided a large island perfect for hosting! For a sophisticated and minimal design, we supplied floor-to-ceiling cabinetry with internal outlets and a countertop for hidden storage of all the kitchen appliances.

We went with painted & full overlay cabinetry which proved budget-friendly! By selecting a mix of flat-paneled and shaker doors we provided a high-end custom detail. The cabinetry color is a creamy contrast to the white walls and picks up on the contrast trim we did in the entire home. We paired that with a soapstone countertop which adds a beautiful contrast to the space and has the loveliest white veining that mimics marble! The entire rear wall was tiled with handmade zellige tiles which offers a beautiful color and texture variation that still feels subtle! Lastly, we selected unlacquered brass plumbing fixtures and hardware that will continue to patina beautifully in the space for years to come!
